I’ve been thinking a lot about how I can help you plan your “escape” from reality - even just for a little bit!!! Who doesn’t want to escape from reality!!?? {{Pick me…Pick me!!}}
Even after taking a vacation - have you ever returned home from a trip saying " “I need a vacation from my vacation”?
Well, you aren’t the only one! This was me many a time!!!
BUT, not my last vacation!!! The last vacation I took - I made sure I planned my "escape" at the resort - which included many different wellness options. It offered me some “me time” - basically I created a “wellness vacation” for myself.
Many people think that going on a "wellness vacation" is just for the rich, but there are many different types of wellness vacations. Wellness has many different definitions.
Let me ask you - What would a “wellness vacation” look like to you?
Peaceful walk in nature or along the beach
Bicycle ride through the countryside
Yoga and mediation classes
Spa treatment Like a massage
Healthy cooking classes
Daily fitness classes
Self Development workshops
Spa facilities like hydrotherapy circuits
Wellness is a must!!! We all need to take care of ourselves. Our body, our mind and our soul. And what better place to do that, but on vacation!!! We can’t pour from an empty cup, so we need to take care of ourselves!!
The problem is for many of us - we want to fit everything into our “once a year” vacation, and we all seem to have the worse case of FOMO these days and we want to have the best and greatest experiences and adventures out there, but we come home exhausted.
But let’s just think about slowing it down just a bit. Maybe take a day or maybe even two and create a “wellness day” for yourself.
There are many hotels and resorts throughout the Caribbean and Mexico such as UNICO 20°N 87°W - Riviera Maya and LIVE Aqua in Cancun, and The Body Holiday in St Lucia who offer many different wellness options. In addition, there are desert and mountain resorts in the United States, such as Mii amo Resort in Arizona and YO1 in upstate New York as well as many amazing options around the world.
Many cruise lines such as AmaWaterways now have Wellness Hosts and bicycles on their river cruises. The key for any service - is try to book your everything beforehand if you can, but if you cannot - make sure you do this ASAP when you check in. Book a spa treatment or two so you start your vacation just right from the start - especially after a long flight or day of traveling. Wouldn’t a massage or a walk on the beach be the perfect way to start your vacation.
There are also luxury Wellness Resorts all over the world, such as Golden Door, Rancho La Puerta, Canyon Ranch, Cal-a-Vie and Miraval that have specialized weekly programs and guest speakers. I try to get myself (and my friends) to these once a year and we are lucky to have two in San Diego.
Can’t you just see yourself being pampered for a day or wouldn’t it be amazing to be pampered for a week as some of these resort can offer? Can you imagine how you would feel after being pampered for a week straight? OH MY!!! They would have to wheel me on to the plane after a week of pampering. I know how I feel after just one great massage. I am in heaven!!! Total jello...LoL
